It would be nice if we didn't have any information for a gas explosion map, wouldn't it?
You may have already had a niggling suspicion that explosions were more than a rare occurrence, and if you've started to investigate, you've already found out that is not the case.
And gas explosions are most often preceded by a gas leak.
It is only the major gas leaks that get reported in the media.
Surprisingly, they occur fairly often too, though I've only just recently started making note of them here.
When you see the events mapped out, the frequency suddenly becomes obvious - and alarming.
The map and event list below is not comprehensive - events like this occur pretty well every day!
Still, you will find events mapped for for: natural gas explosions, major gas leaks, and soon - propane explosions, and other types of gas explosions.
If you know of a gas explosion or major gas leak that's missing below, please add your information here.
Click on any of the map icons below to see a short description of the event.
Each description box will give you a link to the page that tells you more.
Or, scan the Mapped News Events List below and click on any of the event headings to read more. Below the map you'll also find an Icon Legend, and a place to add your comments.
